| south west scimitar day |
We have been invited to join the Devon Noggins at
their second annual South West Scimitar Day. It
will be held on Sunday the 3rd September at the
Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovil.
(www.fleetarm.com). Last years event at the Hanes
Museum was a great success but like all events
it's only the support which makes it so. For more
info contact John at
rssocsouthwalesnoggin@zoomshare.com or the
organiser, Steve Sims at seawolf911@aol.com

Middlebridge has been sold |
Congratulations to John and Moya Slee, new owners
of a shiny Middlebridge. It seems a bit of an
excessive purchase just to save washing his SE6 but
thats John for you!! Looking forward to seeing it

Middlebridge SOLD !!! |
Hi Matt.
many thanks for getting back to me I really
appreciate it. I've sent some photos in a separate
e mail I hope they have been received ok.
The car
is in good condition as you can see. I've had it
for over ten years and only done about 20 000 miles
in it and it has been sorned for the last two
years. I've come to realise that I'm never going to
drive it as much as I hoped too, this is because my
job keeps me away from home so much and when I am
home I spend all my time with the kids so the car
has been left in the garage collecting dust. The
total mileage now is just under 33 000. There are a
couple of marks on the body where it has had small
knocks whilst parked,( the usual shopping trolley
damage ) and there is some small damage to the
front spoiler from a speed hump but to be honest
you have to look hard to find anything.
There has been no crazing in the gel coat the paint
work really comes up well after a waxing.
The car also drives very well, I had it mot'd last
June and have only done about 10 miles since then.
The registration is J6LAC which is staying with the
car.
The interior is in good condition but the front
carpets need replacing as when the car was parked
head up on my drive rain water used to make its way
into the footwells and before I could identify the
problem the carpets had been ruined.
I'm sure your familiar with the spec of the
Middlebridge so I won't bore you. It's the second
Scimitar I've owned the last being an SE6 A, I've
always had a soft spot for them.
There is some service history with the Middlebridge
but as I'm an engineer I've done most of the
maintenance myself everything was the same as the
SE6 apart from the engine which is still quite
agricultural and easy to work on.
As far as price goes I've advertised it in the next
edition of Slice for £5,800. I have seen cars being
advertised for more than this and some for less.
Perhaps
if you know anybody who is interested they could
get in touch and we could work something out I
would prefer to sell it locally as I could arrange
things around my leave a lot easier.
I have kept all the old receipts and MOT's and have
the owners manual. There is also a complete set of
new unused Middlebridge alloy wheels still boxed
that I can include with the car.
I live in Caerleon which is just outside Newport
and would be happy to let people have a look at the
car any time that I am home.
It was kind of you to offer to get an application
form for the May car show, unfortunately I shall be
at sea then so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that
I can sell the car before then.
If there is anything that I have not mentioned
please feel free to contact me by Phone on 01633
422865.
Many Thanks
Rob

New Scimitar spotted in Cardiff |
This afternoon i spotted a red SE5a ahead of me in the Cardiff traffic,
I manged to catch him up as we headed for Penarth Road and got
chatting at the lights, a quick pull in later and i found out that this
chap (forgot to ask his name!) with TTU 195M was from Cwmbran
and was not yet a club member but hopefully he'll join soon.
You never know, we may even see him and his nice, galvanised 5a at
a noggin soon. Because of this chance meeting, I am thinking of
having a few business cards made up with our website address,
contact details for the noggin and breif details of the club. If we all
had a few then we could leave them on new scims in our area and
perhaps drum up a few more local members. watch this space...
